The Good News !
Strawberries made it through the ice storm.

In my lifetime, I have never seen ice in last in shaded areas of the Lowcountry last over a week. I’m sure some of you are used to it, but not me! I hope we can keep that above I 95 from here on out.

Anywho, like I said we were very lucky on the farm. The crew has been busting ass harvesting all our winter bounty. They have also been busy in the greenhouse starting our heirloom tomatoes, everything from Chocolate Sprinkles to Cherokee Purples. Let’s all hope for a great season.

Louise informed me this afternoon the Yolanda will have flowers this week and next for Hallmark Day! Ya’ll know the arrangements will be amazing as usual.

I appreciate the folklore of Saint Valentine, but I don’t need corporate America to help me celebrate or remind me of how much I love my better half. Words of advice, no reason to give a card, flowers or tell someone you love them once a year. Do it all the time, sans the card. I’m done giving advice on y’all’s love lives. I’m giggling while pecking at my keyboard, relationship advice is probably not my forte, but it’s never stopped me before.

Kat and Sidi’s Broccolini Cheese, Rosebank’s Fish Stew, Caramelized Onion Fennel and White Bean (gluten free vegetarian) and Kat’s Apple Butternut are the soups for the week.

Kat’s has also made a sweet, light Sugar Snap Pea and Orecchiette salad for a vegetarian side. She also whipped up Chicken Pot Pies topped with Rosebank’s Biscuits of course.

Try our new Lemon Sandwich Cookie, Oh and Louise says we are going to have decadent Chocolate Something or Other for Hallmark Day !

Be safe!
